Lafayette’s Cooper to continue town hall meetings Lafayette’s Cooper to continue town hall meetings Advocate staff report April 30, 2014 Comments LAFAYETTE — The Cafeteria Conversations series, town hall-style meetings with Lafayette Parish Schools Superintendent Pat Cooper, continues at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Acadiana High School’s cafeteria. Organized by Parents Empowered, a new districtwide parent organization, the Cafeteria Conversations are an opportunity for parents to hear firsthand about the district’s “100 Percent In, 100 Percent Out” turnaround plan and to speak directly with Cooper. During the sessions, Cooper gives a presentation on the plan before he and school district officials discuss various topics. Tuesday’s session is focused on health and wellness programs in the district. The first meeting, held April 17 at Comeaux High, focused on the Common Core State Standards. Upcoming sessions, beginning at 6 p.m., are scheduled: May 1 — Northside High for discussion of facilities and technology. May 6 — Carencro High for discussion of the 2014-15 budget.
