Livingston man accused of 100 counts of child pornography

A Livingston man was booked Tuesday with 100 counts of child pornography, authorities said.

Richard Mudd, 47, 17390 Bud McMorris Road, was booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center on 50 counts of possessing and 50 counts of distributing pornography involving juveniles, said Laura Gerdes Colligan, a Louisiana Attorney General’s Office spokeswoman. If convicted, Mudd faces up to 20 years in prison on each count.

The arrest followed an investigation by the attorney general’s Cyber Crime Unit, Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office and Homeland Security Investigations.
