SUV hits bicycle, kills rider in New Iberia SUV hits bicycle, kills rider in New Iberia Advocate staff report April 18, 2014 Comments A 38-year-old New Iberia man died Saturday night after he was struck by a Jeep as he tried to cross East St. Peter Street on his bicycle, an Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman said. Lt. Anthony Green said Tony “3rd Gear” Parker was found lying in the 500 block of East St. Peter Street at about 10:20 p.m. after he was struck by an SUV driven by Alexander J. Livingston, 22, of New Iberia. Green said Parker was trying to cross the street when he pulled out in front of the Jeep. Livingston has not been cited, but that could change depending on the results of a toxicology test for drugs and alcohol that is administered in all cases in which there has been serious bodily harm or death, Green said. The investigation is ongoing, Green said.
