HAMMOND — Police arrested two Hammond men in the Monday night shooting death of Brian Keith Chester, authorities said Wednesday.
Chester, 31, was shot three times with a small-caliber handgun while at his home in the 1000 block of Phoenix Square, Hammond police Lt. Vince Giannobile said Wednesday.
Investigators believe robbery was the primary motive, Giannobile said.
Chester fled to the home of a neighbor, who called 911.
Chester was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, Giannobile said.
Hammond police on Wednesday booked William S. Wilson, 24, 601 J.W. Davis Drive, on a count of first-degree murder, and John Perry, 20, 803 E. Merry Ave., on a count of principal to first-degree murder, Giannobile said.
The two men will be transferred to the Tangipahoa Parish Jail in Amite.
