Gonzales man booked on burglary after deputies get tip Gonzales man booked on burglary after deputies get tip Advocate staff report April 15, 2014 Comments BELLE ROSE — A Gonzales man was arrested Wednesday on a count of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling by Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies after a Belle Rose resident reported suspicious activity. Edward Ross, 43, of 6415 Patio Court, Gonzales, was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center, Sheriff Mike Waguespack said in a news release. Sheriff’s deputies received a call at around 1 p.m. Wednesday from a person who said a man was walking around the outside of a house under renovation in the 6000 block of La. 1 in Belle Rose, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Responding deputies found Ross, who had items in his possession that the homeowner identified, the Sheriff’s Office reported. He remained in custody Thursday afternoon with a $25,000 bond, Waguespack said.
