Authorities on Friday arrested a man in a Thursday night Glen Oaks-area shooting that left one man dead and two others injured.
East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested Cedric Glasper, 24, in a shooting that happened shortly after 6 p.m. in the 7300 block of Dan Drive, just north of Greenwell Street and east of Airline Highway, said Casey Rayborn Hicks, a Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.
Glasper, with a last known address of 5122 Wilmot St., Baton Rouge, was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a count of second-degree murder, two counts of attempted second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon, Hicks said.
Authorities also are looking for two accomplices in the shooting, in which Corinthian Robertson, 23, of Baton Rouge, was killed. Two other men injured in the shooting were taken to a hospital and are expected to recover, Hicks said.
Glasper arrived at the Dan Drive residence Thursday night and got into an argument with one man there. He then left and returned with two other men and proceeded to fight with two men at the home, Hicks said.
One of the men already at the home armed himself with a stick during the fight, Hicks said, which is when two men exited Glasper’s vehicle and opened fire.
It’s unclear whether Glasper also fired shots.
Glasper and one of the shooters fled in a gold Chevrolet Avalanche, which received heavy damage to the front of the truck in a crash as Glasper and the other men fled the scene, Hicks said.
The third man wanted in the shooting fled the scene on foot.
The shooting remains under investigation, and detectives ask anyone with information to call the Sheriff’s Office at (225) 389-5000 or Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-7867.
