Springfield man killed in Livingston Parish crash Springfield man killed in Livingston Parish crash Louisiana State Police logo Advocate staff report April 02, 2014 Comments A 72-year-old Springfield man died Sunday night after his vehicle left the roadway and overturned in Livingston Parish, State Police report. Roy W. Davenport Sr., not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from his pickup truck and suffered fatal injuries, Trooper First Class Jared Sandifer said in a news release. Troopers responded shortly after 9:30 p.m. to the crash on La. 43 north of La. 442. and determined that Davenport was driving a 1995 Ford F-150 northbound on La. 43 when, for unknown reasons, his Ford ran off the roadway to the right. He briefly regained control before running off the roadway to the right a second time. then overcorrected causing his vehicle to exit to the left where it overturned, Sandifer said. Driver impairment is not suspected at this time; however, a toxicology sample was submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis.
