True BR: Teddy's Juke Joint spinning down-home blues (Video)

Lloyd “Teddy” Johnson Jr. opened Teddy's Juke Joint in Zachary on Jan. 15, 1979. Over the years, the bar became a regular destination for blues greats such as Henry Gray, Raful Neal and the Neal family, Lil Jimmy Reed, Chris Thomas King and many others. Teddy's Juke Joint is now a staple for blues in the Baton Rouge area and is known in over 18 countries.

True BR is a weekly video series that will examine the sights, sounds and tastes of Baton Rouge and its surrounding areas. By looking at the music, events and food that are loved by those in the city, one can get a true understanding of the culture of Baton Rouge and the diversity of its people.
