Shooting victim dies, police identify suspect Shooting victim dies, police identify suspect Brandon Boyd BY RYAN BROUSSARD| firstname.lastname@example.org March 20, 2014 Comments Baton Rouge police say a 24-year-old man shot in the head Tuesday afternoon died from his injuries Wednesday, the same day police identified a 17-year-old boy as a suspect in the shooting. Brandon Boyd, 17, 12301 La Margie Ave., is wanted for first-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon in the death of Emanuelle Myles, 24, police spokesman Cpl. L’Jean McKneely said Wednesday afternoon. A 19-year-old man also was shot in the arm, but he is expected to survive, McKneely said. The shooting occurred at 6:12 p.m. at 12625 La Margie, McKneely said. A large crowd, including Myles and Boyd, had gathered in a parking lot to watch four people, including the 19-year-old victim, fight, McKneely said. Police said Boyd knew two of the people involved in the fight. At some point during the fight, Boyd pulled out a handgun and fired multiple shots into the large crowd, striking Myles and the 19-year-old, McKneely said. Police said Boyd fired randomly. Both Myles and the other victim were transported to a hospital where Myles died, McKneely said. Boyd is considered armed and dangerous, McKneely said, and police are asking anyone with information on him to contact the Violent Crimes Unit at 389-4869 or Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.
