Finding marijuna plants in front yard, Ascension deputies arrest four

Ascension Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested four people Monday at a Prairieville home where four marijuana plants were growing in the front yard.

Maj. Kevin Hanna said narcotics deputies purchased a small amount of marijuana from the home at 39122 Country Drive, then they executed a search warrant for the home.

They found about two pounds of marijuana inside the home, four marijuana plants, drug paraphernalia, a handgun and sawed-off shotgun, Hanna said.

The four people arrested and booked into Ascension Parish Jail are:

Michelle Yarbrough, 40, 39122 Country Drive, Prairieville, on drug and weapons charges. Bail has not been set.

Julie Yarbrough, 59, 39122 Country Drive, Prairieville, on six counts of failing to appear in court. Bail has not been set.

Evangelean Gaona. 20, 39122 Country Drive, Prairieville, on counts of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released Tuesday on a $1,089 bond.

Dakota Sutton, 19, 39122 Country Drive, Prairieville, on counts of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She also was released Tuesday on a $1,089 bond.
