Advocate staff report March 18, 2014 Comments GONZALES — Two weeks after the armed robbery of the Dollar General Store, 17524 Airline Highway, Prairieville, the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying the robber. The Feb. 23 incident happened around 7:30 p.m., when a tall, slender black man armed with a handgun and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and a black ski mask robbed the store, Chief Deputy Tony Bacala said. After the robbery, the man was seen running south on La. 73 toward La. 42. Security video footage from a nearby business appears to show that the man had a car parked nearby. The footage shows the robber leaving and returning to a gray or silver four-door Chevrolet car with a dent on the passenger side rear quarter panel, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
