Mar 12, 2014 10:16 Police: Couple stole wedding rings from jeweler Police: Couple stole wedding rings from jeweler BY ROBERT STEWART| email@example.com March 12, 2014 Comments The son of a Baton Rouge jeweler’s ex-boyfriend was one of two people arrested Wednesday on accusations of stealing three wedding rings from a private office in the jeweler’s store. Jeremy Fredericksen and Shannon Marie Vaughn-Woodward entered Vicki Anton’s Jewelry on Bluebonnet Boulevard on Dec. 13 and asked Anton, the store’s owner, if she needed help that day, according to arrest warrants filed in East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk of Court. Anton told the couple she did not need help and continued to assist a customer in the store, the warrants say. She later noticed the door to her private office, which had been closed, was opened. Anton discovered three diamond rings in a box on her desk were missing, the warrants say. The rings were part of a jewelry set worth $5,800 total. Anton located Fredericksen and Vaughn-Woodward the next day at a hospital and noticed they were wearing the jewelry. The warrants do not indicate whether the pair were receiving medical attention at the facility. Fredericksen and Vaughn-Woodward admitted to Anton they took the jewelry, the warrants say. The couple said they had planned to pay for the jewelry eventually but returned the rings to Anton. Anton reported the theft to the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office on Dec. 19. A deputy called Fredericksen and Vaughn-Woodward and told them they needed to be interviewed, but the pair said they returned the rings to Anton, then hung up the phone, the warrants say. Livingston Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested Fredericksen, 25, and Vaughn-Woodward, 37, at their home at 26615 Walker South Road, Walker, and booked them into the Livingston Parish Detention Center on a count each of felony theft. The two were transferred to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Thursday, booking records show. The warrants indicate Fredericksen is the son of Anton’s ex-boyfriend but do not identify Fredericksen’s father.
