The National Weather Service issued the warning around 4 p.m. Monday for 13 parishes, including Pointe Coupee, West Baton Rouge and East Baton Rouge, from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m. Tuesday. Forecasters have predicted temperatures between 28 degrees to 32 degrees along with a slight chance of freezing rain and sleet before 9 a.m. Tuesday in the New Roads area. Little or no snow accumulation is expected. The high for Tuesday is expected to reach 44 degrees. Organizers with the 92nd annual Community Center Carnival Parade said the parade would not be canceled and is still set to begin at 11 a.m. in New Roads. The 71st annual New Roads Lions Carnival parade will follow at 2 p.m.
