Campus Federal outlines growth plans Campus Federal outlines growth plans BY TIMOTHY BOONE| email@example.com Feb. 28, 2014 Comments Campus Federal Credit Union has started a renovation of its multipurpose operations center on Perkins Road and plans to open expanded branches at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and the LSU Union later this year. The credit union will spend about $470,000 to renovate the back offices on Perkins, next to Pennington Biomedical Research Center, said Ron Moreau Jr., Campus’ chief development officer. The expansion will allow Campus Federal’s operations to be more efficient and to better use space. Moreau said nothing has been done to the operations center since it opened in 2001, so changes are needed to accommodate Campus Federal’s growth. “We’re up to 170-plus employees, and we’re processing more checks and handling more operations,” he said. The credit union is set to open a new branch in the Our Lady of the Lake Medical Plaza building by the end of April or May. The credit union took over the medical center’s credit union in 2012. Since then, Moreau said the operations at Our Lady of the Lake have been in a 46-by-10-foot room. “We’re going into an existing space that was once occupied by a bank,” he said. “There’s even a vault in there.” Campus Federal is also set to open an expanded branch in the LSU Union in late July, Moreau said. The credit union will move into a space formerly occupied by the LSU Bookstore, which recently moved into a new location across from the Union.
