Police issued a second-degree murder arrest warrant for James Dean, 23, unknown address, in the Jan. 1 killing of Michael Taylor Sr., 53, who died Jan. 7 after being hospitalized following the riot, said Cpl. L’Jean McKneely, a Baton Rouge police spokesman. Dean was initially booked into Parish Prison after the fight on accusations of inciting a riot. But he posted a $2,000 bail shortly afterword, according to booking records. James Dean’s mother, Kimberly Dean, 40, and his brother, Devin Dean, 21, were also arrested on counts of inciting a riot in the Jan. 1 brawl. Both have since posted bail and been released from Parish Prison. Two booked in August armed robbery, burglary Authorities arrested two men Tuesday wanted in an August robbery in which a man was bound with duct tape, held at knife point and robbed of about $50,000 worth of valuables. Brandon Hamilton, 23, 5929 St. Gerard Ave., and Dennis Hamilton, 43, 5777 St. Katherine St., both of Baton Rouge, were booked into Parish Prison on counts of armed robbery and aggravated burglary, booking records show. Deputies last week arrested Davelin George, 24, of Baton Rouge, on counts of aggravated burglary and armed robbery in the heist, which happened on Aug. 25 at Millenium Apartments, in the 6800 block of Jefferson Highway, said Casey Rayborn Hicks, an East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman. Deputies are still looking for Maurice Johnson, 42, who is also wanted in the robbery, Hicks said. Four accused of driving while intoxicated Authorities arrested at least four people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, booking records show. Those booked and the counts against them: Norman Moak, 52, 10625 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI, driving with an expired driver’s license, insurance required and a stop sign/yield sign violation. Khushboo Sojitra, 19, 4012 Teche Drive, Kenner, first-offense DWI, hit-and-run, an equipment violation, failure to maintain control of a vehicle and reckless operation. Tricia Waterman, 41, 13060 Live Oak St., Maurepas, first-offense DWI, bringing contraband into a penal institution, improper lane usage, following to close, distributing or manufacturing Schedule II drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of an alcoholic beverage in a vehicle.
