One dead, one injured in I-110 crash Saturday One dead, one injured in I-110 crash Saturday Advocate staff report Feb. 19, 2014 Comments Baton Rouge police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash Saturday night on Interstate 110 South that left one woman dead and another in critical condition. Cpl. L’Jean McKneely, a police spokesman, said the two women were in a 1999 Ford Ranger pickup that ran off the interstate on the I-110 curve and hit a tree near the Scenic Highway overpass at about 9:13 p.m. The passenger, who has not been identified and is thought to be between 18 to 25 years old, died at the scene while the 18-year-old driver remains in critical condition at a hospital, McKneely said. “Alcohol and speed are considered factors in this crash,” McKneely said. The crash remains under investigation.
