Police and fire briefs for Feb. 10, 2014 Police and fire briefs for Feb. 10, 2014 Advocate story Feb. 10, 2014 Comments Man, 22, arrested on armed robbery counts Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Baton Rouge man late Saturday accused of robbing a woman under his carport on Holly Street after he asked her for a cigarette, then threatening to kill her if she called police. Eddy Lee Ruffin, 22, 14445 N. Holly St., Baton Rouge, was booked into Parish Prison on counts of armed robbery, resisting an officer and possession of a stolen firearm. When deputies arrived at Ruffin’s home to question him, they knocked, but no one answered, the affidavit of probable cause said. He told deputies the victim left her cellphone at his home and he did have a gun but did not pull it on the victim, the affidavit said.
