Edward T. Hayes, of law firm Leake & Andersson LLP in New Orleans, has been appointed as honorary consul of Ukraine for the state of Louisiana. Hayes leads the firm’s international trade and business practice. His work includes representing domestic industries in trade remedy proceedings in Washington, D.C., and advising U.S. businesses on export business development, contracts, compliance and controls. Hayes also serves on the Louisiana District Export Council of the U.S. Department of Commerce and is an adjunct professor of international trade law at Tulane University School of Law.
The Louisiana Restaurant Association Greater Baton Rouge Chapter named Brandon Landry and Jack Warner, of Last In Concepts, as Restaurateurs of the Year; Ryan Nizzo, general manager of Walk-On’s in Baton Rouge, as Active Member of the Year; and Billy Long, vice president of Crescent Crown Distributing, as Associate Member of the Year.
Landry and Warner, who founded Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar, the Roux House, Happy’s Irish Pub, Schlittz & Giggles and Walk-On’s Catering, were recognized for the growth of Last in Concepts.
Nizzo’s award recognizes an individual in the food service industry who is involved in chapter affairs, events and meetings, and encourages his peers to join the association and become active.
Long’s award recognizes an associate member who volunteers his time and talents in service to the chapter and its activities and fundraisers.
