Warrant issued for suspect in Nov. 7 fatal shooting, armed robbery Warrant issued for suspect in Nov. 7 fatal shooting, armed robbery Demonte Foster Advocate staff report Feb. 05, 2014 Comments Baton Rouge police issued an arrest warrant Tuesday for a 20-year-old man in the fatal shooting and robbery of Travis Harris on Nov. 7. Police spokesman Cpl. L’Jean McKneely said Demonte Foster, 3250 Dalton St., is wanted on first-degree murder and armed robbery. Harris was found shot to death with a handgun near a stairwell outside an apartment at the King’s Court Apartments on Dougherty Drive at about 9 p.m., McKneely said. Police have said Harris’ pockets were empty and he died at the scene. Witnesses saw Foster and at least one other person running from the from the scene after the shooting, McKneely said. Witnesses came forward and gave detectives enough evidence to issue a warrant for Foster, McKneely said. Police had said they were looking for three robbers, but McKneely said police now believe there was only one other person involved. Foster is considered armed and dangerous, McKneely said.
