Driving too fast while talking on a cellphone may have contributed to a single-car accident that killed a Greenwell Springs man Tuesday morning, Baton Rouge police said.
Johnny Kemp, 29, of 5121 Parkin Ave., Greenwell Springs was found dead on South Choctaw Drive near North Flannery Road, said Cpl. Don Coppola, a police spokesman.
The crash, which occurred at about 8:20 a.m., came after Kemp’s Ford 150 pickup failed to make a right-hand curve, causing the truck to flip, partially ejecting him. The truck ran off the road, through a parking lot and into a ditch, Coppola said.
