‘A Sort of Homecoming’ casting call today in Lafayette ‘A Sort of Homecoming’ casting call today in Lafayette Acadiana bureau Feb. 10, 2014 Comments LAFAYETTE — Lafayette-area residents 18 and older are invited to participate in a casting call Monday for extras in a movie scheduled to be filmed throughout the Hub City this month. The open call will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Staybridge Hotel at 128 E. Kaliste Saloom Road in Lafayette. Those attending should bring a photo of themselves. The screenplay for the movie, “A Sort of Homecoming,” was written by Lafayette native Lynn Reed. The movie is being produced by Believe Entertainment and features actors Laura Marano, who stars in the Disney Channel’s “Austin & Ally,” Katherine McNamara from “Kicking It,” and Shayne Topp, who stars in “So Random.” “The film prominently features Lafayette and the world of high school speech and debate,” according to a release. The movie will be directed by Maria Burton.
