Livingston officials call for another curfew, starting at 11 p.m. Wednesday

Livingston Parish officials have instituted a curfew between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 5 a.m. Thursday because of icy weather conditions.

Officials are concerned that ice and snow on roadways will thaw when temperatures creep above the freezing level Thursday afternoon and refreeze as temperatures once again dip below the freezing level Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.

Parish officials also enacted a curfew between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning to keep drivers off slick roads. The Sheriff’s Office has said at least 20 crashes have happened since the curfew was lifted earlier Wednesday.
