Laura Barrios died about 6:15 p.m. Friday when the 2007 Buick Lacrosse she was in veered off the westbound exit ramp of La. 641 on Interstate 10, State Police said in a news release. The car smashed into a tree on the driver’s side. Raymond F. Barrios Jr., 70, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor to moderate injuries. His wife, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene. Impairment is not suspected. However, troopers sent a toxicology sample from Raymond Barrios to the State Police Crime Lab for analysis, the release says.
