Wilkaman Nunnery, of Natalbany, was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on a count of second-degree murder in the death of D’Markus McKnight, of Hammond, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Dawn Panepinto said Friday in a news release. A fight broke out at Roy’s Night Club, 15332 Braziel Road, after 11:30 p.m., Panepinto said. Nunnery intervened in the fight and pulled out a handgun. Nunnery shot McKnight, who then fell to the ground, Panepinto said. Nunnery unloaded two more bullets on McKnight before fleeing the scene. Nunnery surrendered to authorities later Friday, Panepinto said. The bar was cited for allowing a minor inside, Panepinto said.
