Cynthia Gauthreaux was a caregiver for the victim, from whom thousands of dollars might have been stolen, Crowley Police Chief K.P. Gibson said a news release. Gauthreaux, 51, was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail. “The investigation revealed (that) several thousand dollars were taken by the caregiver; however, not by simply stealing the funds,” Gibson said. He said Gauthreaux allegedly tricked the victim, whose identity has not been released, into releasing the money to her.
