Dept. of Transportation crews work in January on removing large and heavy rolls of steel off of the road, on I-12 westbound, just west of O'Neal Lane. Traffic was tied up and slowed to one lane while wreckers were used to hoist the steel coils off of the road. The driver, Jason Cash, with Universal Truckload Services, Inc., said that he was cut off in traffic by a driver in a white SUV, and that he hit her a couple of times, as the early morning traffic moved at about 20-25 miles per hour. The SUV driver did not stop, he said. Baton Rouge Police were handling the accident and report.
