Unrestrained driver killed in Ascension Parish crash Unrestrained driver killed in Ascension Parish crash Louisiana State Police logo Advocate staff report Jan. 22, 2014 Comments A White Castle man died after his 2012 Chevrolet pickup ran into a ditch and struck a utility pole late Monday night in Ascension Parish, State Police said. Ronald J. Skinner, 51, wasn’t wearing his seatbelt, troopers said. Troopers began investigating after 11 p.m. Monday and determined Skinner was traveling west on La. 405 when for unknown reasons his pickup drifted left, crossed the eastbound lane of traffic and ran off the road, north of La. 1, near Brou Road. Impairment is unknown at this time, but a toxicology sample was taken from Skinner and submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis, Trooper Jared Sandifer said.
