Felton and Marguerite Jones, who family members say suffer from differing degrees of dementia, were located by a St. Bernard Parish sheriff’s deputy at 3 a.m., said Traci Landry, spokeswoman for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office. The family alerted St. Mary authorities Thursday when they couldn’t locate the couple, Landry said in a release. The family reported that the couple had planned a trip to New Orleans, she said. The Joneses were listed on the National Crime Information Center database, and other Louisiana law enforcement agencies were notified. A St. Mary sheriff’s dispatcher received word early Friday that the NCIC listing had “received a hit” from St. Bernard Parish, Landry said. The couple, who reside in the Four Corners area near Jeanerette in St. Mary Parish, were found in St. Bernard Parish, not far from their vehicle, which had run out of gas. The release did not state where in St. Bernard the Joneses were found. Landry did not return a call seeking comment Friday.
