Two hit by car; woman arrested
Two people were injured Monday when a 22-year-old woman struck them with her car and drove away, an act the suspect said was meant to scare them because she did not mean to hit them, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
The victims identified the driver as Laronica L. Douglas, 2122 Carolina St., Baton Rouge, and police arrested her late Monday and booked her into Parish Prison on counts of aggravated battery and hit-and-run, the affidavit says.
The victims said they were hit intentionally in the 9400 block of Gassie Street, while Douglas said she was trying to scare them and when she hit them, drove away in a panic, the affidavit says.

After he pushed her down, he took her phone away so she could not call the police, the affidavit of probable cause says.
