Insurance software company to move into Tech Park

Access Health of Louisiana, which developed software to help consumers and agents make more informed decisions about health insurance, is the newest tenant of the Louisiana Technology Park on Floridfa Boulevard.

The Tech Park board voted Thursday to accept Access Health as a tenant. The company was founded by John Howard and Derek Babcock, two health insurance agents who operate the Preferred Agency of Louisiana.

Access Health’s software generates more accurate information about subsidies available under the Affordable Care Act and health insurance premium estimates. Along with working with insurance agents, the company is developing a website that allows consumers to generate premium information and read details of the plan option.

Access Health, which has about 15 employees, has started to move into the Tech Park.
