Kwame Stevens fired four shots at another man on Friday, missing his target but not giving up, police said.

On Tuesday at 4:20 p.m., Stevens saw his enemy again near Blanchard and Oak streets. This time he fired seven shots and hit the victim once in the hand, Opelousas Police Chief Perry Gallow said.

On Wednesday morning, police, after receiving a tip, caught Stevens after a brief foot race. Stevens, 22 and from Opelousas, was booked on one count each of attempted first-degree murder and resisting an officer.

Gallow said the investigation revealed that the shooting was drug related.
