Early morning fire damages BR home

A home on Byron Street in Baton Rouge caught fire early Monday and suffered significant damage. Residents of the home escaped unharmed, Curt Monte of the Baton Rouge Fire Department said.

Firefighters arrived at 3:49 a.m. and found the kitchen of the home at 4415 Byron Street engulfed in flames. The fire spread to the living room and attic before being brought under control around 4:10 a.m.

Monte said the cause of the fire is undetermined and under investigation, but investigators do not suspect foul play.
