LAFAYETTE — A man driving east on Kaliste Saloom Road with a child in his car Tuesday night was shot at by another driver at the intersection of South Beadle Road, Lafayette police said.
The driver, 40, received minor injuries and his 5-year-old passenger was uninjured in the 6 p.m. shooting, which occurred in the 800 block of Kaliste Saloom Road, Cpl. Paul Mouton said.
The 5-year-old was in the back seat when a driver of a white four-door Pontiac Bonneville pulled alongside at a traffic light and began yelling, Mouton said.
“As the victim proceeded forward he heard a loud bang and his car door window shattered,” Mouton said.
The man made a quick turn onto South Beadle Road and called police.
Anyone with information is asked to call Lafayette police or Crime Stoppers at (337) 232-TIPS.
