Burglary suspect arrested in Ascension Parish

A man suspected in a rash of burglaries from Nov. 26-27 in a Gonzales residential area surrendered Monday to Ascension Parish authorities.

Michael Posey Jr., 20, of 41149 La. 42 in Prairieville, was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail late Monday afternoon and his bond was set at $52,340, Lt. Col. Bobby Webre with the Sheriff’s Office reported in a news release.

Posey faces six counts of simple burglary, felony theft, misdemeanor theft, theft of a firearm, criminal trespass and simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling.

Posey allegedly burglarized six vehicles and a home in the Gonzales area and attempted to sell the items, Webre said.
