CLINTON — Two East Baton Rouge Parish men accused of robbing an Ethel convenience store Monday morning at gunpoint were arrested following a car chase with authorities.
Mark Lee, 33, 18733 Sammuels Road, Zachary, and Devin Isadore, 22, 7135 Calumet St., Baton Rouge, were each booked into the East Feliciana Parish Jail with two counts of armed robbery.
Lee was also booked with aggravated flight from an officer, East Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office Det. Kevin Garig said in a news release.
Garig said the robbery occurred just before 10:20 a.m. at the Danny’s 2 Go convenience store at 6430 La. 19.
Lee and Isadore are accused of going into the store with a handgun and demanding money from the cashier and a customer.
The two men left in a vehicle, which was described by witnesses to Sheriff’s Office deputies.
Deputies as well as officers with the Jackson Marshal’s Office spotted the vehicle and tried to pull the driver over at La. 955 and Line Road in Ethel, Garig said.
The driver wouldn’t stop and led the officers on a high speed chase until the vehicle crashed into a light pole at the intersection of U.S. 61 and Thomas Road in East Baton Rouge Parish.
