Broussard man dies after vehicle flips, ejecting him.

A man ejected from his truck after crashing early Sunday in the 6800 block of Ambassador Caffery Parkway died from his injuries Sunday night, officials said.

Dustin Taylor, 32, of Broussard, was taken to a hospital in critical condition after the 2 a.m. single-vehicle crash, Police Chief Brennon Decou said in a news release.

Decou said Taylor is suspected of driving too fast and flipping his 2006 Toyota Tundra after the truck left the road and Taylor over-corrected.

Taylor was pronounced dead at 7:03 p.m. Sunday.

Decou said officers arrived to find the Toyota heavily damaged and Taylor lying unresponsive and away from the truck.

Investigators, who do not yet know if alcohol impairment was a factor, are awaiting toxicology results in a case that remains open.
