Runner assaulted near LSU lakes Thursday Runner assaulted near LSU lakes Thursday Advocate staff report Nov. 22, 2013 Comments Baton Rouge police are looking for a man believed to have attacked a 30-year-old woman as she was running Thursday evening near the LSU lakes. The attack happened shortly after 6 p.m. in the 2500 block of East Lakeshore Drive, said Don Coppola Jr., a Baton Rouge police spokesman. The woman was running in the area with headphones in her ears when someone grabbed her from behind in a choke hold until she lost consciousness, Coppola said. She soon regained consciousness to find a man punching her in the stomach and chest area. She then began screaming, causing the man to jump up and flee the scene, Coppola said. Police described the attacker as a muscular black man, 5-foot, 8-inches to 5-foot,10-inches tall, 185 to 200 pounds, who wore a reddish-pink-colored shirt with dark-colored shorts or pants at the time of the attack.
