Arrests made in armed robberies at LSU

Three men suspected of committing at least three armed robberies around LSU’s campus Monday night have been arrested.

Authorities on Thursday arrested Letravis Kittrell Duncan, 20, 6373 Brierwood Drive, Baton Rouge, and Larry Dynell Scott Jr., 17, 76790 Rosedale Road, Rosedale, on three counts of armed robbery, Capt. Cory Lalonde, an LSUPD spokesman, said in a news release.

Late Thursday, Jarvis Diquann Dawson, 19, also of Rosedale, turned himself into the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office, and he also is accused of three counts of armed robbery, Lalonde said.

The first robbery happened just before 11 p.m. near the LSU Student Union at the corner of Raphael Semmes Road and Highland Road, Lalonde said.

About 30 minutes later, LSUPD responded to another armed robbery in a parking lot next to Kirby Smith Hall on the north side of campus. There, two people were seen running from the robbery and getting into a white car driven by a third person, Lalonde said.

Baton Rouge police responded to another armed robbery on State Street just north of campus around the same time, Lalonde said.

On Thursday police located the getaway car — a white 2012 Chrysler 200 — at Duncan’s residence, and with the help of the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office, authorities arrested all three men.

Police ask anyone with more information about these incidents to call LSUPD investigators at (225) 578-3231.
