No one was injured Sunday morning when a fire tore through an office building next to the house at 435 W. Shady Lake Place in south Baton Rouge.
St. George Fire Department spokesman Eldon Ledoux said the two adults and two children inside the home got out when their smoke and fire alarm went off. The fire never reached their home, and nobody was inside the office building.
Firefighters dispatched about 2:00 a.m. found the attic and porch of the office building ablaze, Ledoux said.
The fire was declared under control at 2:43 a.m.
A department investigator has not yet determined the cause of the fire, Ledoux said.
