First-time home-buyers expo set for Saturday First-time home-buyers expo set for Saturday Participants can sign up for tours Advocate staff report Oct. 29, 2013 Comments The Urban Restoration Enhancement Corp. holds its rescheduled first-time home-buyers housing expo for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Delmont Service Center, 3535 Riley St., in Baton Rouge. Doors open at 9 a.m. for registration. The free expo will offer sessions on credit counseling, how to shop for a home, mortgage financing, inspections and more. Participants also can sign up to tour houses for sale. UREC originally scheduled the expo for Oct. 5, but canceled because of potential bad weather from Tropical Storm Karen, said Ronnie Edwards, special projects manager for UREC. This Saturday’s expo has space available for corporate sponsors and exhibitors, but the deadline to participate is Wednesday.
