Drug arrest made in Ascension home-invasion incident Drug arrest made in Ascension home-invasion incident River Parishes bureau Oct. 23, 2013 Comments GONZALES — Ascension Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested another individual on drug counts who authorities say was present during a home-invasion robbery on Ashland Road last week in which the resident was shot several times. Nathan Braud, 44, 45242 Stringer Bridge Road, St. Amant, was arrested Monday night and booked into Ascension Parish Prison on a count of distribution or manufacture with intent to distribute Schedule II drugs, two counts each of possession of Schedule I and III drugs and single counts each of possession of Schedule II and IV drugs, deputies said Tuesday in a news release. Deputies said they searched Brent “Smoke” York’s mobile home on Ashland Drive where the shooting occurred Oct. 10 and found a large amount of methamphetamine, marijuana, Xanax and ecstasy, or MDMA. Deputies have said Braud was in the mobile home with York and three others in the early morning hours of Oct. 10 when a woman and three armed men broke in, announcing themselves as the “police” and demanded money. Multiple gunshots were fired and York, 34, 9370 Ashland Road, Gonzales, was struck. The four robbers remained unidentified Wednesday and at large, deputies said. York remained in an area hospital Wednesday in stable condition and under guard, deputies said. He faces drug charges upon his release from the hospital, deputies said. The three others in the mobile home on Oct. 10 with Braud and York were booked on the same drug counts as Braud, deputies said. The three are: Cody Brown, 28, 18438 Guitreau Lane, Port Vincent; Krystal Cedotal, 28, 23745 La. 444, Livingston; and Sasha Desormeaux, 34, 12150 Hooper Road, Baton Rouge. The three also remained in jail Wednesday. Braud’s bail had not been set as of early Tuesday evening, deputies said.
