Former Ascension deputy booked on child porn counts Former Ascension deputy booked on child porn counts Todd Tripp Advocate staff report Oct. 21, 2013 Comments A former Ascension Parish deputy who was arrested Sept. 10 on accusations relating to child pornography and indecent behavior with juveniles was arrested again Tuesday and booked into Parish Prison on 304 counts of child pornography, officials said. Todd Tripp, 24, 921-A W. Elrem St., Gonzales, was fired from the Sheriff’s Office on the same day as his initial arrest in September, and booked into the Ascension Parish Jail. He bonded out Sept. 27. Detectives re-arrested Tripp on Tuesday, after a forensic analysis of a variety of items seized during a search of his home, including laptop computers and cellphones, according to Chief Deputy Tony Bacala. Tripp has been booked into the Ascension Parish Jail, and his bond set at $76,000. Tripp was first arrested last month after Ascension Parish Sheriff Jeff Wiley received a tip on Sept. 10 about Tripp’s relationship with a 15-year-old juvenile. Deputies have said they found evidence Tripp exchanged inappropriate pictures and text messages with the teenager. At the time, Tripp had been employed by the Sheriff’s Office for 18 months, working mostly in the jail, and was training to become a patrolman.
