The next Household Hazardous Materials Collection Day for East Baton Rouge Parish will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 2 at Memorial Stadium in Baton Rouge. This is for residential waste only. No business or other commercial waste will be accepted. People will need to show proof of residence when entering the drop off site. Materials to be accepted include fertilizers, pool chemicals, insecticides, pesticides, gasoline, cleaning products, brake fluid, diesel, oil and fuel filters. Items not accepted include ammunition, explosives, fireworks and latex paint. A complete list of what is, and is not, accepted is available at www.brgov.com/recycle. Residents should enter the site from Scenic Highway at Foss Street. There will be signs, and police officers will help keep the traffic moving, according to a news release from the city-parish.
