INDEPENDENCE — Independence police arrested three men early Sunday accused in a drive-by shooting on Second Street, Police Chief Frank Edwards III said.
Devonte Holden, 20; Johnny Kelly, 21; and Cortez Norman, 18, all of Independence, were booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on three counts each of attempted first-degree murder and are being held in lieu of $300,000 bail each, Edwards said in a news release.
The three men were traveling in a black Nissan Altima north on Kemp Street around 12:15 a.m. Sunday when at least one of them began shooting at a group of alleged rivals in front of a Second Street house, Edwards said.
Nobody was injured, the police chief said.
Authorities arrested the trio about 15 hours later, Edwards said.
