WALKER — An unknown substance spilled Monday morning on Walker South Road and Florida Boulevard in Walker, tying up traffic in the area, authorities said.
The substance spilled on Walker South Road between Interstate 12 East and Florida Boulevard, as well as on Florida Boulevard between Walker South Road and North Corbin Road, according to a traffic alert from the Walker Police Department.
State Department of Transportation and Development crews used sand to clean the affected roadways, said Capt. John Sharp, of the Walker Police Department.
Authorities are not sure what the substance was, but it appeared to have the texture of oil, Sharp said.
It is uncertain at this point how the substance spilled onto the roadways.
