Kenneth “Baron” Baker was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on one count of attempted second-degree murder, Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Dennis Pevey said in a news release. Baker is accused of shooting an unidentified man at 18513 Sisters Road, Ponchatoula, Pevey said. Witnesses told deputies that the victim drove to a Circle K gas station in Ponchatoula after the shooting. Deputies were called to the gas station around 4:45 p.m. Sunday and found the victim with a single gunshot wound, Pevey said. The victim was in stable condition at a New Orleans hospital as of Sunday, Pevey said. Deputies found Baker late Sunday during a traffic stop in Ponchatoula, Pevey said. He was taken into custody without incident.
