PONCHATOULA — Tangipahoa Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested a 54-year-old man Sunday accused of shooting another man in the face.
Kenneth “Baron” Baker was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on one count of attempted second-degree murder, Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Dennis Pevey said in a news release.
Baker is accused of shooting an unidentified man at 18513 Sisters Road, Ponchatoula, Pevey said.
Witnesses told deputies that the victim drove to a Circle K gas station in Ponchatoula after the shooting.
Deputies were called to the gas station around 4:45 p.m. Sunday and found the victim with a single gunshot wound, Pevey said.
The victim was in stable condition at a New Orleans hospital as of Sunday, Pevey said.
Deputies found Baker late Sunday during a traffic stop in Ponchatoula, Pevey said.
He was taken into custody without incident.
