Troopers with Troop I pulled over the eastbound 2012 Dodge van at 5:30 a.m., searched the vehicle and discovered 691 pounds of pot. Pedro Matamoros, 38, of Brownsville, Texas, was booked on one count of improper lane usage and on suspicion he intended to distribute the marijuana, State Police said in a news release. Matamoros was booked into the St. Martin Parish Jail. Troopers said they believed the marijuana, valued at more than $1 million, was to be sold in Louisiana.
