Bradford J. Verret, 59, was killed when the 2001 Dodge Ram he was driving crossed the center line on Martin Ridge Road north of La. 87 and hit a boat being towed by a New Iberia man, State Police said in a news release. Verret’s Dodge clipped the boat being pulled by Ron Boutte in a 1992 Ford F-150. Police said that after Verret hit the boat, his Dodge ran into a ditch. “Despite the fact that he was wearing a seat belt, Verret suffered fatal injuries in the crash,” State Police Trooper Jared Sandifer said. Boutte was not injured. Impairment is not suspected by either driver involved in the crash.
