Four arrested in Acadiana drug ring bust

Acadia Parish and state law enforcement agents rounded up drug distribution suspects in the Crowley and Rayne areas early Wednesday, making four arrests, officials said.

The Acadia Parish Narcotic Strike Force and the Louisiana Department of Probation and Parole began serving arrest warrants at 3:30 a.m. in a search for 13 suspects, according to Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Maxine Trahan.

The suspects were wanted on suspicion of distributing crack cocaine, Roxicodone, marijuana and PCP, Trahan said.

Trahan said that nine suspects remained at large as of Wednesday afternoon.

Those arrested were:

Darren D. Roberts, 43, 500 block of North Chevis Street, Rayne, distribution of Roxicodone and marijuana.

Jerome K. Sonnier, 25, 200 block of Westwood, Crowley, two counts distribution of crack cocaine.

Johnava J. Bellard, 29, Acadia Parish jail, Crowley, distribution of marijuana.

Gerald Curley, 54, Kathy Apartments, Crowley, distribution of crack cocaine.
