Ponchatoula man killed in Tuesday crash Ponchatoula man killed in Tuesday crash Advocate staff report| July 17, 2013 Comments PONCHATOULA — A 35-year-old Ponchatoula man died Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of La. 22 and Firetower Road in Tangipahoa Parish. Aaron Rodgers was driving south on Firetower Road in a 1999 Saturn sedan when, for unknown reasons, he failed to stop at the La. 22 intersection, State Police said in a news release. Rodgers then drove across the intersection and went into a ditch on the south side of the paved roadway. Rodgers was later declared dead at a hospital. Rodgers was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, State Police said. Troopers said it’s unknown if Rodgers was impaired at the time of the crash. A toxicology examination is being conducted.
